Profile: Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Anna university (India) and Master’s in Mechanical and Aerospace engineering from Oklahoma state university, USA.  Nine years of overall experience in the Automotive Industry in the Engineering area working with Brake actuation design and development for few years. Then worked on Friction material development for few years. Later promoted as Senior Engineering Supervisor to lead and manage the North American friction material department within ZF and also  responsible for creating, managing and maintaining the Friction COP in Auros for the global ZF friction engineering team to use.

Profile: Tim is responsible for Caterpillar’s Technical Communities of Practice (TCoP’s) and Knowledge Management systematic business disciplines driving culture, standard work processes and technologies to help grow the breadth and depth of sustainable competency, skills and knowledge. Tim has created and developed Caterpillar’s Knowledge In-the-Flow (KITF) program. Tim’s experience at Caterpillar includes technical lead positions within integrated powertrain systems, advanced planning for validation, and the Mossville, IL Technical Center Engineering Talent & Competency team.

Tim has a 30 year multi-faceted work history first starting out at a small sheet metal manufacturing firm as draftsman then maturing with increasing design responsibilities at companies like Komatsu, Rockwell-Collins, and General Motors – Powertrain prior to Caterpillar. Tim has resided on the Industrial Advisory Board at Purdue University’s Computer Graphics and Technology (CGT) / Purdue Polytechnic Institute (PPI) serving in an advisory capacity for almost 15 years and has been awarded for innovations in Knowledge-based Engineering (KBE). In addition to engineering, Tim has a knowledge-based programming background including LISP, Intent Definer Language (IDL), Knowledge Fusion (KF), Java and HTML.

Profile: Prior to joining the team at Auros Knowledge Systems in 2014, Jeff had accumulated over 20 years of experience as both an end-user & vendor of multiple product development technologies, including CAD, CAE, CAM, PDM, PLM, and 3D Printing.

Jeff’s current role is Director of Sales at Auros.  He is responsible for new business development, continuous improvement of the sales process, customer satisfaction, and implementation of CRM.

Jeff is a native of Ann Arbor and attended the University of Michigan, where he earned both a BFA (Industrial Design & Graphic Design) and a BGS (English, Spanish, & Art History).

Profile: Wendy Lange has worked at General Motors for 30 years. She started her career in the Materials Engineering area and has played many roles, including: Design for Environment Lead, Bumper Design Release Engineer, Mass Engineering Manager, Energy and Environment Strategy Board coordinator, and Knowledge Management Engineering Group Manager. As the Knowledge Management leader, she has been responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Auros toolset at General Motors. Through the hard work of many bright and talented people at GM, the tool has continued to grow and expand the number of ways it is used.

With over 20 years of experience in the Automotive Industry in the Engineering area working with component design of chassis components on heavy trucks, buses, agricultural combines and tractors, and passenger cars. Last 16 years dedicated to Foundation Brake Engineering at ZF-TRW as Design Lead and more recently promoted to Knowledge Based Engineering Lead for Auros.

Profile: Jeff Mayhugh serves as Engineering Group Lead, Navistar Technical Memory for Navistar, Inc. Jeff has 13 years of product development experience and has been involved with Navistar’s Technical Memory initiative from the start. First, he was a user and author of K-PACs for the Ergonomics Community of Practice. Jeff later changed roles in the organization to support the Auros implementation full-time. Prior to joining Navistar in 2010, Jeff worked in the Crew Systems Integration group at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT. There, Jeff performed digital human modeling and human factors analyses for the CH-53K Heavy Lift Helicopter program. Jeff holds a Master’s degree in Human Factors from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and a Master’s of Business Administration from Indiana University.

Profile: Jeff has been an innovative leader in the field of Engineering Knowledge Management and Intelligent Design Automation for the past fifteen years and is the author of the whitepaper ‘Knowledge Aware Engineering’. 

Jeff is currently the President of Auros Knowledge Systems where he heads the business development, research, and product development teams.

Prior to Auros Knowledge Systems, Jeff worked at the Ford Motor Company in the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Development organization leading several Design Automation and Knowledge Systems projects. While at Ford, Jeff also developed expertise in both product development and manufacturing engineering having served as Product Engineer, Manufacturing Supervisor, Process Engineer, and Systems Engineer.

Jeff has a BS Mechanical Engineering from Miami University and earned his an MBA from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad Graduate School of Management.

Profile: Nick Periat is a practitioner of convergent technical problem solving at FCA US LLC.  He is a certified Kepner Tregoe Instructor, a Shainin Red X Master, The New Science of Fixing Things expert, Six Sigma Green Belt, and has significant experience with TRIZ, TPS, WCM, and 8D problem solving.  He has also mastered convergent proactive strategies that complement but are different than Design for Six Sigma.  He has made it a goal to master all reactive and proactive problem solving techniques identifying the principles/functions each are based on to highlight the benefits and weaknesses of each and the similarities of all. He has traveled the globe solving complex problems in many industries and technical arenas refining strategy and techniques to assure quick containment of all problems and robust solutions to follow.
