How Auros Adopts Within an Organization
It’s often been quoted that the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. This anecdote holds true with Auros, but our advantage is as an enterprise system, we are not top-down architected. Auros is an enterprise solution that can connect multiple disciplines, documents, and processes, Auros is designed to grow organically and bottom-up. In contrast, PLM systems use a traditional, monolithic approach which demands uniformity to a single process, utilizes a structure that is difficult to change, and often does not work.
With a bottom-up elicitation of the technical know-how, the retained know-how maintains unique voices through self-organizing communities; which are delivered to relevant manufacturing engineering decision points to enable design optimization within a given context and with all relevant influencing factors. The organic approach allows “power for the people” and engages the workforce.
We find that our customers have the most success when they start small. For an example, a deployment starts with a small core group of Subject Matter Experts (5-10 employees) publishing their software for knowledge management in Auros. As the knowledge amasses, teams quickly begin to leverage the power of the system. Once people experience the power of the system and can see firsthand how their knowledge is activated, instead of buried in a document, the initiative behind the system gains momentum. As recognition of the power of Auros begins to spread, other groups and teams of people are incentivized to become part of the community.
